Meet Maddie

Maddie on a boat ride.

I would like to introduce to you Maddie, the dog.

Our family adopted Maddie the Summer of 2021 from the Clark County Humane Society, WI. Clark County Humane Society Website She was originally from Texas, had a stop at a veterinary office in Oklahoma and made her way to Wisconsin. She was pregnant, but delivered 5 puppies while at the shelter. When the puppies were old enough to be weaned, they, along with Maddie, were put up for adoption.
Initially we submitted an application for a different dog that was at the shelter, but that dog already had someone interested in him. The shelter staff suggested Maddie to us, explaining her situation. We agreed to come meet her with our other dog and it was love at first sight. We would foster her first, since she would have to come back to be spaded, but she could recover and start to live in her forever home now. She was very skinny and very skittish but got along very well with our other small dog, and all 5 of us at our house. She fit right in. She has come a long way since then. At first she wouldn't play or cuddle but now she plays and considers herself a lap dog, even at 30 lbs. We love her and can't imagine our life without her.
